Heehee I was a little bored this evening, so I perused the YouTubes for stop motion animations. I came upon these three gems:

1: [link] Super creepy. Don't watch with the lights out or if you have a family history of heart attacks. Extremely well-timed and directed. And most importantly, it is scare-the-poop-outta-you scary.

2: [link] I've watched this one three times now. Also a bit creepy, but less poop out-scaring than the last one. Tells a great story, though, and is really well executed. Right now I'm sketching a picture inspired by it.

3: I can't seem to post the last link, since the configuration of letters creates a in the middle of the damn thing. But go to YouTube and search for 'Within the Bloody Woods 1' and it's the first result. There is a Version 2 further down, but I can't see any difference in them. This one is totally piloting som serious ROFLcopter and unleashing the LOLosaurus rex. Listen especially to the voice acting, and keep in mind that the creator is japanese. And on top of all that, it is really really super well-timed and animated.

Why the sudden interest in stop motion? Well, and I have a little production in the works (but with ourselves instead of clay figures!). It's a little (unintentionally) reminiscent of Tony vs. Paul (if you have missed this work of stop motion mastery somehow, watch it, dammit! [link] ). Hopefully we'll get it done eventually and post it. These do take a while, especially getting the still pictures into the computer and animated. But keep an eye out for it.
